Usage instructions
1. Define the roles
Clarify the roles within your team for a sequence of interview sessions. Here, you will find guidance on interview roles and responsibilities.
2. Familiarise with interview best practices
Review the most critical interview best practices with your team.
If you feel comfortable conducting customer interviews, choose the more comprehensive list of best practices.
3. Capture notes
- Capture the interviewer’s most important quotes.
- Categorise them based on whether they support or refute your hypothesis or provide new insights.
- Use a “#” when a quote represents a job, pain, or gain for your customer segment or a prototype job, pain reliever or gain creator of your prototype in the value map.
- Help your interviewer to let the interviewee rank your identified jobs, pains and gains.
- Add the provided numbers from the interviewee to the jobs, pains and gains (e.g. #1, #2, #3).
4. Debrief and share
Debrief the interviewer right after the interview to identify if adjustments are needed. Share the captured and categorised interview data in the experiment synthesising session.
